ALBANY — A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred Tuesday evening on Warren Street.
On July 8 at around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the basketball courts in the area of Eagle Street and Warren Street for reports of a large group of juveniles fighting.
Upon arrival, officers observed the group and separated them.
Officers also learned that a 17-year-old male had sustained stab wounds to his stomach area and arm during the incident, and was located in the area of Morton Avenue and Elizabeth Street.
Further investigation revealed that the male who sustained stab wounds, along with another male, had approached two juveniles while at the basketball courts, implied they had handguns, and demanded their property.
A 17-year-old male victim attempted to walk away from the incident, but a struggle ensued between the group.
During the altercation, the victim produced a knife in an attempt to stop the robbery and in self-defense slashed the 17-year-old male in the arm and the stomach area.
During the incident, the 17-year-old victim sustained a defense wound to his finger.
Additionally, a 20-year-old male victim sustained injury to the back of his head after allegedly being struck with a handgun.
Both victims were transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He has been charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree and four counts of robbery in the second degree.
He will be arraigned in Albany County Family Court this afternoon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
