Tewksbury police arrest Brooklyn man on fentanyl trafficking charge

TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a New York man on a drug distribution charge.

Vasil Rijamadze, 51, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl.

On Monday, July 7, Tewksbury Police were called to 1695 Andover St. to conduct an investigation.

Officers located approximately 42 grams of fentanyl in a hotel room that had been rented to Rijamadze.

Rijamadze was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

He was arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court, where he was ordered held without bail.
