Keene driver airlifted to Boston after car hits tree, catches fire

KEENE — Keene police responded to Pearl Street at Meadow Road for a serious motor vehicle collision on Tuesday at approximately 12:49 a.m.

The collision involved a single motor vehicle, a 2008 Honda Accord, which had struck a tree near the intersection.

The only vehicle occupant was the driver, who was identified as Shawn Brousseau, 34, of Keene.

The car caught fire following the collision.

Brousseau was rescued from the vehicle by Keene police officers, and the fire was extinguished by the Keene Fire Department.

Brousseau was transported to the Cheshire Medical Center and subsequently airlifted to Boston Medical Center for advanced treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation by the Keene Police Department Collision Analysis Team.
