East Hampton man arrested in hit-and-run crash

EAST HAMPTON — A 24-year-old East Hampton man has been arrested in connection with a two-car motor vehicle accident where one driver fled the scene.

Ross Hurne of 28 Cone Rd. was charged with following too close and evading responsibility following an investigation into the June 27 crash in the area of West High Street at Middletown Avenue, according to the East Hampton Police Department.

Hurne is scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on Wednesday, July 9 at 9:00 a.m.

In other police activity, George Roderick, 54, of 203 Case St., West Granby was issued a summons July 1 for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, illegal use of a motor vehicle registration, and operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

Roderick is scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on Wednesday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m.

On July 3, Trenton Anikienko, 27, of 8 Starr Pl., East Hampton was taken into custody on an active warrant and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and interfering with a police officer.

Anikienko was scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court the same day.
