Bath man charged with felony in domestic assault case

BATH — Bath Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Howell Street and Buell Street for an assault victim on July 5 around 3 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who appeared to have been assaulted during a domestic dispute.

The victim alleged the assault took place at an address on Pine Street in the Village of Bath.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.

Around 6:40 p.m., after multiple attempts, Bath Police Officers were able to locate the suspect inside of a residence on Pine Street and he was taken into custody.

David Strassburg, 39, of Bath, was charged with Assault 3rd, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd and two counts of Criminal Mischief 4th, all class A misdemeanors.

Strassburg was also charged with Aggravated Family Offense, a class E Felony.

Strassburg was processed and then transported to the Steuben County Jail where he is held without bail.

Strassburg is a two time convicted felon and is currently on NYS Parole.

The NYS Parole after hours were contacted and they are aware of this new arrest.
