OXFORD — The Oxford Police Department assisted in the safe conclusion of a multi-jurisdictional vehicle pursuit that began in West Boylston and traveled through Worcester and Leicester before ending in Oxford on Sunday.
The pursuit involved a vehicle occupied by individuals from Clinton who fled from police in multiple jurisdictions.
The suspect vehicle eventually entered Oxford and traveled down Hartwell Road, a cul-de-sac, where the driver attempted to turn around to evade capture.
During the maneuver, the fleeing vehicle collided with a Leicester Police Department cruiser that had entered the area in an effort to contain and end the pursuit.
Oxford Police officers immediately responded and provided critical support, assisting Leicester officers in safely taking the suspect into custody without further incident.
No officers or civilians were injured during the pursuit or arrest.
The incident is currently under investigation by the originating agency, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
