14-year-old arrested with loaded gun in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood

BOSTON — A 14-year-old male was arrested early Sunday morning after police found him carrying a loaded firearm in Dorchester.

Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to 125 Alexander Street at about 1:10 a.m. for a loud party call.

While clearing the party, officers observed a group of five individuals congregating outside the address.

Police noticed one individual clutching his waistband and turning his body away from officers as he walked toward the front stairs.

Officers observed what appeared to be a bulge in the middle of the suspect’s waistband.

The suspect was stopped before entering the building and a pat frisk was conducted.

Officers recovered a firearm from the suspect’s waistband.

The firearm was processed by detectives and determined to have one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.

The juvenile was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

He faces charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
