Providence police arrest 3 in separate incidents

PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested Richard Alves, age 39, of Boston, Massachusetts, at 11:35 p.m. on an affidavit arrest warrant originating from the Cumberland Police Department.

The warrant was for domestic violence simple assault and domestic violence disorderly conduct.

The arrest resulted from troopers responding to a pedestrian walking on Route 95 North in Providence.

Alves was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and turned over to the custody of the Cumberland Police Department.

At 12:50 a.m., troopers arrested Jossie Gomez, age 35, of Providence, Rhode Island, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance – 10 grams or less of fentanyl.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Smithfield Avenue in Providence.

Gomez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and was held overnight to be presented as a violator at Sixth Division District Court.

Also at 12:50 a.m., troopers arrested Ezra Sayles, age 23, of Providence, Rhode Island, for obstructing an officer in execution of duty and resisting arrest.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Smithfield Avenue in Providence.

Sayles was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court date.
