Man charged in fatal pedestrian crash in Fayston

FAYSTON — A 19-year-old Florida man has been charged with gross negligent operation with death resulting after his vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian Saturday afternoon.

Noah Kirson of Winter Park, Florida, was driving a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser on Mansfield Road toward Vermont Route 17 at approximately 1:19 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a pedestrian, according to Vermont State Police.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.

Kirson was not injured in the crash and was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

Kirson was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.

The crash occurred near Stark Mountain View Road under clear and sunny conditions.
