HILLCREST — A 46-year-old Spring Valley woman was arrested on weapon and drug charges during a traffic stop early Friday morning, according to the Town of Ramapo Police Department.
Officers conducting a midnight patrol observed a vehicle with multiple violations, including inoperable lights and a suspended registration.
After initiating the traffic stop, officers discovered a firearm, suspected drugs and other items in the vehicle.
The driver was found in possession of a .25-caliber handgun, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon and several vehicle and traffic law violations.
The suspect was arraigned and released on her own recognizance pending future court appearances.
