Salamanca police report 26 arrests in 2-week period

SALAMANCA — Police reported 26 arrests over a two-week period from June 19 through July 3, according to an activity report released by Chief Deck.

The arrests included charges ranging from traffic violations to felony offenses.

On June 19, police arrested Mitchell Richardson, 24, of Salamanca, for DWI first offense, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC greater than .08, aggravated DWI with a BAC greater than .18, failure to keep right, unlicensed operator, failure to use designated lane and false personation stemming from a traffic stop.

Richardson was processed and released to appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date.

Also on June 19, police arrested a 13-year-old juvenile for two counts of criminal mischief 4th degree, stemming from two separate incidents in the city.

On June 20, police arrested Dusti Ginnery, 38, of Salamanca, on an arrest warrant charging her with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree stemming from a previous complaint.

Crystal Witter, 39, of Portville, was arrested the same day on a bench warrant issued out of Salamanca City Court and was arraigned and sent to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of bail.

On June 23, police arrested Hilton Johnny John, 32, of Salamanca, for speeding and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

Elijah Ground, 33, of Salamanca, was arrested the same day for disorderly conduct, obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree, and endangering the welfare of a child and was held pending arraignment.

Jackie Chamberlain, 57, of Salamanca, was arrested June 24 for harassment in the 2nd degree.

On June 25, police made five arrests, including Amber White, 37, of Salamanca, for speeding and AUO 3rd degree; a 16-year-old juvenile for assault in the 3rd degree; Marvin Shantler, 29, of Salamanca, for uninspected motor vehicle, unlicensed operator and AUO 3rd degree; Lateef Ghani, 45, of West Valley, for menacing 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use 4th degree, and harassment in the 1st degree; and Garrett McArthur, 22, of Holland, for multiple charges including reckless endangerment in the 2nd degree following a chase.

Adam Wakefield, 41, of Fort Collins, Colorado, was arrested June 25 for no/insufficient tail lamps, unlicensed operator and AUO 3rd degree.

On June 27, police arrested Waymon Kennedy, 19, of Steamburg, for passing a red light, no inspection and AUO 3rd degree, and Andrew Button, 35, of Salamanca, on an arrest warrant for petit larceny.

June 28 arrests included Jed Nickerson, 27, of Salamanca, for DWI first offense and multiple traffic violations; Shylia Dunning, 37, of Dayton, for speeding and AUO 3rd degree; Brandon Futrell, 24, of Salamanca, for harassment in the 2nd degree; and Katharine Washy, 33, of Hamburg, for unsafe turn/failure to signal and AUO 3rd degree.

On June 29, police arrested Salvador Casares, 46, of Allegany, for multiple charges including DWI first offense, assault 2nd degree, and aggravated harassment of an employee by inmate, and Jerry Halstead, 75, of Salamanca, for two counts of AUO 3rd degree and unsafe backing.

Douglas Reed, 41, of Killbuck, was arrested July 1 on an arrest warrant for trespass.

On July 2, police arrested Cheylene Cooper, 30, of Salamanca, for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree, and William Wilder, 51, of Salamanca, on an arrest warrant for felony aggravated family offense, aggravated criminal contempt and assault in the 3rd degree.
