Springfield man arrested on warrant after hiding in camper

SPRINGFIELD — A 40-year-old Springfield man was arrested June 27 after police found him hiding in a bathroom of a camper at a Seavers Brook Road residence.

Darren Stilwell was taken into custody at 4:21 p.m. at 482 Seavers Brook Road on charges of fugitive from justice, arrest on in-state warrant and false information to a law enforcement officer.

Police said Stilwell had an active arrest warrant and had provided a false name to officers the day prior.

Officers found Stilwell hiding in the bathroom of a camper and took him into custody without incident.

Stilwell was transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.

He was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on June 30 at 12:30 p.m.

Stilwell was then transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
