Bath woman arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

BATH — An officer with the Village of Bath Police Department observed a vehicle violate a section of the NYS V&T Law on West Washington Street at approximately 2:32 p.m. July 2.

Following an investigation, Amanda L. Sprayberry, age 32 of Bath, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and failure to signal within 100 feet of a turn, a traffic infraction.

During the course of the traffic stop, officers with the Village of Bath Police Department suspected that criminal activity was afoot.

After a search of the vehicle and the contents therein, Sprayberry was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Sprayberry was arrested, processed, and released on an appearance ticket as the charges do not qualify for bail.

Sprayberry is due in Bath Village Court at a later date.
