Albany police investigate early morning shooting on Lark Drive

ALBANY — Albany Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Thursday morning on Lark Drive.

Officers responded to Lark Drive near Manning Boulevard at around 1:40 a.m. July 3 for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his legs, buttocks and shoulder.

The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Through investigation, police determined that the victim was standing on the steps of a residence at the time of the shooting incident.

In addition to the victim being shot, a pit bull inside the residence was also struck by gunfire when the rounds entered the home, striking the dog in the neck and leg.

The pit bull was transported to a veterinary hospital in Latham for further medical treatment.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
