SHELDON — Vermont State Police arrested a St. Albans woman on suspicion of driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash on Route 105 near Casino Road on July 1.
The crash occurred at 1:22 p.m. under sunny conditions on dry pavement.
Robert Rivers, 23, of Fairfield was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado that sustained major rear-end damage.
Kellie Peters, 39, of St. Albans was operating a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg that suffered major front-end damage.
Neither driver was injured or transported to a hospital.
Peters left the scene on foot after the crash but was located shortly after by troopers.
Police observed numerous signs of impairment while speaking with Peters and placed her under arrest.
Peters was transported to the St. Albans Barracks for processing.
She was issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m. to answer charges of DUI drug, leaving the scene of an accident and negligent operation.
Peters also had an active warrant for retail theft.
She was lodged at Chittenden County Correctional Center on $250 bail and scheduled for arraignment in Franklin County Superior Court on July 2 at 1 p.m.
