Three men charged with fentanyl trafficking in Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY — Three men were arrested on fentanyl trafficking charges following a monthslong investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

Wandy Urbaez, 22, of Dorchester; Jairol Munoz-Mateo, 37, of Salem; and Raidor Lugo Aybar, 32, of Lawrence, were taken into custody Tuesday, July 1.

Munoz-Mateo was charged with trafficking over 36 grams of fentanyl.

Urbaez faces charges of trafficking over 36 grams of fentanyl and six counts of trafficking in fentanyl.

Lugo Aybar was charged with trafficking over 36 grams of fentanyl, distribution of a Class A substance, and three counts of trafficking in fentanyl.

The arrests stemmed from a joint investigation by the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit, Billerica Police, Chelmsford Police, Tyngsborough Police, the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team.

Approximately 40 grams of fentanyl and $1,850 in cash were seized during the arrests.

Over 200 grams of fentanyl were confiscated throughout the investigation.

The three men were arraigned Wednesday in Lowell District Court and ordered held on $100,000 cash bail each.

Munoz-Mateo is also subject to an immigration detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus commended the collaborative efforts of the involved agencies.
