Stamford police investigate death of man found unresponsive in vehicle

STAMFORD — Police are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive in a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the area of Avery Street and Cove Road at approximately 1:50 p.m. following a report of a male passed out inside a vehicle.

The caller stated they had attempted to wake the individual by banging on the windows, but the male was unresponsive.

Stamford Fire Rescue and Stamford Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene.

The male was identified as Mark Pjetri, 43, a resident of Stamford, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police have not determined whether the incident is criminal in nature.

The case remains under active investigation.
