SPRINGFIELD — On July 1, members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, along with multiple agencies, executed a search warrant and recovered a loaded firearm, drugs and more than $23,000 in cash.
The search warrant was issued June 30 for a home on the 200 block of Plainfield Street.
Around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, authorities detained four individuals: Jemsen Ortiz, Angel Vazquez, Erika Ramos-Davilla and Amarilys Calderon-Ramos.
During the search, detectives found an extended firearm magazine loaded with 31 rounds, approximately 182 clonazepam pills, firearm accessories, 20 strips of suboxone, 3.7 grams of cocaine, 48 rounds of ammunition and a loaded firearm with eight rounds.
Ortiz, who is currently out on bail with an electronic monitoring bracelet, was previously arrested Feb. 9, 2024, with five illegal firearms, including a machine gun.
Ortiz, 20, faces charges including possession of a firearm without an FID card, improper storage of a firearm and drug conspiracy.
Vazquez, 42, is charged with intent to distribute suboxone, cocaine and clonazepam, as well as drug conspiracy.
Ramos-Davilla, 42, faces the same drug distribution and conspiracy charges as Vazquez.
Calderon-Ramos, 24, is charged with possession of a high-capacity magazine.
