New York man arrested in Brasher strangulation case

BRASHER — New York State Police arrested Larry D. Ryan, 54, of Winthrop on June 30 for criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.

Troopers responded to a report of a physical altercation on Dullea Road at approximately 8:22 p.m.

Their investigation revealed that Ryan and the victim were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, Ryan grabbed the victim and placed his hands around their neck, applying pressure.

The victim managed to escape when a witness contacted law enforcement.

Ryan fled the scene before law enforcement arrived but was later located and arrested.

He was taken to SP Winthrop for processing.

Ryan was released on an appearance ticket scheduled for July at the Town of Brasher Court.
