At about 2:30 p.m., officers conducting a drug investigation executed a search warrant at 415 River St. in Mattapan.

Upon entering the apartment, officers observed a removed window screen.

Officers saw Martinez walking toward his vehicle before he fled on foot toward Blue Hill Avenue.

He was quickly apprehended and placed in handcuffs.

A search of the apartment yielded multiple plastic bags containing fentanyl and crack cocaine, along with drug packaging materials, manufacturing equipment, and two digital scales.

Martinez faces charges of trafficking Class A drugs (85 grams of fentanyl) and trafficking Class B drugs (25 grams of cocaine).

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
