Man arrested for burglary in Auburn home

AUBURN — Auburn police arrested a man early Monday after he allegedly broke into a family member’s home and stole several items.

Officers responded to a residence on Wilbur Avenue around 4:35 a.m. on June 30 for a reported domestic incident.

Police located and detained Tyler S. Bovee without incident.

Investigators determined Bovee had entered the home unlawfully through a window while the victims were asleep.

Bovee allegedly stole multiple items before a family member discovered him and told him to leave.

Police arrived as he was exiting the residence.

Bovee was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, as well as misdemeanor petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He was processed and taken to the Cayuga County Jail to await arraignment.
