BOSTON — Officers arrested a Dorchester man Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting nearly four years ago.
At 3:10 p.m. on July 1, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit took 46-year-old Marc Lamothe into custody.
He is charged in the 2021 killing of 29-year-old Joshua Smith.
The shooting occurred on July 5, 2021, near the intersection of Seaver Street and Humboldt Avenue.
Officers found Smith suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside 122 Seaver St.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After a lengthy investigation, a Suffolk County grand jury indicted Lamothe on June 27.
Lamothe was arrested near 555 Hyde Park Ave.
He faces charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm as a second offense.
He is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court.
