JAY — A 54-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after fleeing the scene of a single-vehicle crash Monday night.
Vermont State Police responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Gendron Road and Cross Road at 10:49 p.m.
The operator, later identified as Amber Brooks of Jay, had left the scene without reporting the crash.
Brooks’ 2021 Buick Encore was found off the side of the road after striking and damaging the Gendron Road sign and stop sign.
Responding troopers located Brooks and detected indicators of impairment.
Brooks was arrested on suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
She was transported to the Derby barracks for processing.
Brooks sustained no injuries in the crash, and her vehicle received minor damage.
She was cited to appear in Orleans Superior Court on July 1 at 12:30 p.m. to answer charges of DUI #3 and leaving the scene of an accident.
