Pitcher man arrested on strangulation, assault charges

HOMER — New York State Police arrested Sebastian Leigh Eccleston, 49, of Pitcher on June 27 at approximately 2:16 p.m. for strangulation in the second degree, a class D felony, and assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched by the Cortland County 911 Center to Cortland Guthrie Medical Center on June 24 for a report of a domestic dispute.

The investigation determined that the incident occurred on June 13 and began with an argument in a vehicle.

The victim stopped the vehicle while in Marathon and Eccleston is accused of choking the victim and having physical contact with the victim, causing pain and injury.

Eccleston was arrested June 27 in Syracuse and transported to State Police Homer for processing.

He was then transported to Cortland County Jail for centralized arraignment.
