New Haven man arrested on domestic violence charges in Ansonia

ANSONIA — A New Haven man was arrested on two warrants stemming from domestic violence incidents that occurred June 16 and June 24.

Darryl Giles, 35, was taken into custody June 24 on charges related to both incidents involving the same victim, according to Ansonia police.

Police said Giles forced his way into the victim’s home June 16 in violation of a protective order.

He was charged with violation of protective order, second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass for the June 16 incident.

Giles was held on $75,000 bond and arraigned at Derby Superior Court June 25.

In the June 24 incident, police said Giles entered the victim’s home in violation of a protective order and assaulted the victim, causing serious head and facial injuries.

He was charged with second-degree assault, violation of protective order, first-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and operating under suspension for the June 24 incident.

Giles was held on $500,000 bond and arraigned at Derby Superior Court June 25.
