LEWISTON — Maine State Police have arrested a 23-year-old Lewiston man in connection with the shooting death of a teenager last summer.

Nasib Aden was taken into custody June 11 in Fridley, Minnesota, by members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and charged with murder in the death of 17-year-old Sahal Muridi.

Officers discovered Muridi deceased on the ground.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South was called to investigate.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined Muridi’s cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head and neck, ruling the manner of death a homicide.

An Androscoggin County Grand Jury indicted Aden for murder on May 6.

Aden was extradited back to Maine on June 26 by members of the Maine Department of Corrections.

He was arraigned June 27 in Androscoggin Superior Court where he pleaded not guilty.
