MONTPELIER — Police have arrested a 37-year-old transient man in connection with domestic threats and two theft incidents that occurred June 29.

Mackenzie Rollins was taken into custody at 9:55 p.m. after officers received a report that he had stolen a tip container from Domino’s Pizza on Berlin Street.

Earlier that evening at approximately 7:46 p.m., the Montpelier Police Department received a report of a verbal domestic altercation between two individuals on Stone Cutter’s Way near Main Street.

Rollins was found to have court-ordered conditions of release prohibiting contact with and abuse of his domestic partner.

He fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

During the investigation, police said Rollins had taken money from the victim under threat of harm.

Officers located Rollins near the pizza restaurant and took him into custody without incident.

A Vermont Superior Court judge ordered that Rollins be held on $500 bail.

He was transported to the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility in St. Johnsbury, where he is being held for lack of bail pending arraignment.

Rollins is scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, at 12:30 p.m. June 30 on charges of larceny from a person, larceny from a building, and violation of conditions of release.
