BRANCHPORT — A 65-year-old woman was arrested on felony driving while intoxicated charges after a motor vehicle accident in a tavern parking lot Sunday evening.
Sharon L. Meyer of Prattsburgh was taken into custody at 6:24 p.m. at 2051 Italy Hill Road following the incident at the Blue Eagle Tavern, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot and made contact with Meyer, who displayed several signs of intoxication, police said.
Meyer refused to take standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested, authorities said.
She was transported to the Yates County Safety Building for a chemical test and released on appearance tickets.
Meyer faces charges of felony DWI common law, felony aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 or greater, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
