DORCHESTER — Two people were arrested Saturday morning after police executed search warrants that led to the recovery of two firearms and trafficking amounts of drugs.
Rahsaan Lashley, 39, of Dorchester, and Bianca Lee Cruz, 43, of Dorchester, were taken into custody on firearm charges and multiple warrants.
Officers from the Drug Control Units of District C-6, B-2 and the Citywide DCU conducted the operation at 16 Old Road at 10:45 a.m.
Police set up surveillance around the area and observed the target of the investigation exiting the building.
The suspect was stopped by officers from District B-3 as he walked down the street.
Drug Control Unit officers arrived and advised the suspect they had search warrants for his body and residence.
Officers knocked and announced their presence at the front door and advised occupants they had a search warrant.
During a protective sweep, police discovered one occupant had two outstanding warrants.
The search yielded a Colt MK4 with six rounds in the chamber and a Cobra CB Special with two rounds in the cylinder.
Officers also recovered multiple plastic bags containing approximately 45 grams of crack cocaine and 2 grams of fentanyl.
Police seized approximately $926 in U.S. currency, digital scales and drug packaging materials.
Lashley faces charges including Armed Career Criminal Level 2, multiple firearm and ammunition possession charges, improper storage of a firearm, trafficking of Class B drugs and possession with intent to distribute Class A drugs.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
Cruz was arrested on two active warrants for charges including motor vehicle law violations, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny and receiving stolen property.
She is also expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
