Waterbury police arrest 2 in drug operation raids

WATERBURY — Members of the Waterbury Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, Auto Theft Task Force, Gang Task Force, Community Relations Division, Detective Bureau, along with members of the CT State Police Violent Crimes Task Force, executed eight search and seizure warrants at various locations throughout Waterbury and Wolcott on June 25 at approximately 5:45 a.m.

The warrants included searches of two vehicles and one for the person of Lavaughn Freeman, 32, of Waterbury.

During the investigation, police seized drug paraphernalia, 30 grams of fentanyl, 16.3 grams of cocaine, $1,000 in U.S. currency, 21.1 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 1,200 bags of heroin.

Freeman was charged with illegal operation of a drug factory, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of 1 ounce or more of heroin/fentanyl and possession of 1/2 ounce or more of cocaine in freebase form.

William Kee, 35, of Waterbury, was charged with tampering with evidence, illegal operation of a drug factory, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of 1 ounce or more of heroin/fentanyl and possession of 1/2 ounce or more of cocaine in freebase form.
