UTICA — A 41-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly threatening another woman with a golf club and swinging it at her on South Street.
Utica police responded to the 100 block of South Street on June 25, 2026, regarding an argument involving a golf club threat.
The victim told officers an unknown woman approached her and began arguing for no apparent reason.
The suspect then threatened to strike the victim with a golf club and proceeded to swing the weapon at her, police said.
The victim was able to move out of the way and left the scene to avoid further conflict.
Officers located a person matching the suspect’s description a short distance away.
Gabrielle Camp, 41, with no known address, was positively identified as the suspect and arrested.
Camp was transported to the Utica Police Department.
Due to Camp having a previous menacing conviction within the last 10 years, her charges were elevated to felony status.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
Camp was charged with menacing in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
