ROCHESTER — A 55-year-old Maine man sustained a severe leg injury Wednesday when his motorcycle crashed into a car trailer being pulled by a pickup truck on Salmon Falls Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:09 a.m. near 1187 Salmon Falls Road when the vehicles collided as they passed on a curve, according to a Rochester Police Department press release.
Kenneth Tharpe of Berwick, Maine, was driving a 2019 black Harley Davidson motorcycle that sustained extensive damage and was later towed from the scene.
Tharpe was wearing a helmet during the crash.
The pickup truck was driven by Bruce Patch, 69, of Farmington, who was not injured in the collision.
Patch’s 2004 silver GMC pickup truck did not sustain damage, but the car trailer he was pulling sustained damage to the driver’s side dual wheels and was towed from the scene.
Due to the severity of the crash, the Strafford County Regional Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation.
New Hampshire State Police Troop G assisted with inspection of the car trailer.
Rochester Police, Rochester Fire and Frisbie EMS responded to the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
