MANCHESTER — Manchester police arrested a 33-year-old man Thursday in connection with an assault at 138 Orange Street, the same address where a fatal stabbing occurred the previous day.

Police received a call at approximately 3:45 p.m. June 26 regarding an assault in progress.

The caller reported someone had been pulled from a car and was being beaten.

Officers located the victim, who suffered minor injuries.

Police learned the victim had pulled into a driveway when two men approached his driver’s side window and began banging on it.

The men pulled the victim from his car and began assaulting him.

One man reportedly had a gun.

The suspects brought the victim upstairs to an apartment but released him when police arrived on scene.

Police determined the victim and one of the suspects knew each other and the attack does not appear to be random.

Officers identified one of the men as Christian Edwards of Manchester.

Edwards was later located and arrested.

He faces charges of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, witness tampering, handguns changing marks, receiving stolen property and two counts of felon in possession of dangerous weapon.

On June 25, a man was stabbed at the same address and died from his injuries.

Police are investigating whether the two incidents are related.
