Man arrested on drug trafficking charges after traffic stop in Rockland

ROCKLAND — A 24-year-old Lawrence, Massachusetts man was arrested on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop on Old County Road on June 25.

Rockland police conducting proactive traffic enforcement stopped a vehicle around 2 p.m.

During the stop, officers developed reason to suspect the occupants were involved in the use and sale of illicit narcotics.

Officers seized over 55 grams of illicit drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl.

Officers also located evidence of drug sales and trafficking and firearms.

Jose Henriquez-Paulino was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule drugs.

Rockland police said they often receive information and complaints from citizens regarding locations around the city suspected to be involved in drug trafficking.

Rockland police have made multiple narcotics arrests through proactive and directed patrols and executed a number of narcotics-related search warrants in the past year.
