Jasper man arrested on public lewdness, false statement charges

JASPER — The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 34-year-old man June 24 following reports of a man standing naked in a window.

Cody P. Hawley of Hunter Hill Road was charged with public lewdness, filing a false written statement and endangering the welfare of a child, according to Sheriff Jim Allard.

Deputies allege Hawley repeatedly stood partially unclothed in front of a window as children walked past.

Authorities also allege Hawley gave a false written statement regarding his actions.

Hawley was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
