BUFFALO — Four men were arrested following a narcotics investigation by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office that resulted in the seizure of more than 2 kilograms of suspected fentanyl and two loaded handguns.
Sheriff John C. Garcia announced the arrests of Dominic Daniels, 38 of Buffalo, Antonio Martinez, 33 of Buffalo, Demetrius Jones, 41 of Buffalo, and Thomas Szymanski, 50 of Lackawanna.
The arrests followed an investigation by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit with assistance from the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services, Buffalo Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Marshals and the Erie Crime Analysis Center.
Multiple search warrants signed by Hon. Kenneth Case of Erie County Court were executed June 25.
A search of 229 Townsend St. in Buffalo resulted in the discovery of 3.5 grams of suspected fentanyl, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Jones was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Szymanski was also located at 229 Townsend and taken into custody on multiple warrants after misidentifying himself to law enforcement.
He was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
A search of Martinez’s residence at 26 Easton Ave. resulted in the discovery of more than 2 kilograms of suspected fentanyl in various forms and drug paraphernalia.
A search of Daniels’ vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded handgun, 130 grams of suspected fentanyl and 39 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
A search of Daniels’ residence at 501 Emslie St. resulted in the discovery of cash and a loaded handgun.
Both Martinez and Daniels were taken into custody by the FBI and charged federally by the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York.
