Worcester man arrested on drug charges after throwing cocaine, scale

WORCESTER — A 36-year-old man was arrested on drug charges after police say he threw crack cocaine and a scale while officers tried to stop him.

Luis Blandino of Worcester was charged with possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute following the incident on June 25.

Worcester Police officers assigned to the Vice Squad observed what appeared to be a drug transaction at approximately 6:10 p.m. on the corner of Kingsbury and Shepard streets.

When officers attempted to stop Blandino, they saw him throw something, police said.

The items were determined to be a bag containing crack cocaine and a scale.

Blandino was placed under arrest at the scene.
