Man cited for DUI #3 after traffic stop on Route 9 in Woodford

WOODFORD — Vermont State Police arrested a Bennington man on suspicion of third-offense driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Vermont Route 9 Wednesday night.

Troopers stopped Robert Hurley, 42, at 8:32 p.m. after observing multiple traffic violations.

While interacting with Hurley, police reported noticing several indicators of impairment.

Hurley was taken into custody and transported to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing.

According to police, Hurley refused to submit to testing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on July 14 at 8:30 a.m. to face the DUI charge.
