Hartland thefts lead to arrest after police chase

HARTLAND — The Windsor County Sheriff’s Department received reports of stolen wallets and purses at the Hartland Recreation Center and ball field parking lots on May 22.

During the investigation, it was discovered that a stolen credit card had been attempted to be used unsuccessfully at Walmart in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

On May 26, the Bellows Falls Police Department engaged in a motor vehicle pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.

The suspect, Zachary Lapointe, was apprehended and found to be in possession of stolen items from Hartland.

The property has been returned to its rightful owners.

Lapointe is currently held at the Southern State Correctional Facility and is cited to appear in court on July 19.
