FORT KENT — A single-vehicle crash on Caribou Road sent two people to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries on June 21 at approximately 8:30 p.m., according to Fort Kent Police Department.

Fort Kent Fire and Ambulance Service responded alongside police after a 2025 Chevrolet Corvette left the southbound lane, crossed the centerline, and exited the left side of the roadway.

Officials said the vehicle continued along an embankment, struck a tree, and came to rest in a ditch.

Fort Kent Fire personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate a female occupant from the vehicle.

A male, identified as 46-year-old Reed Devoe of Eagle Lake, who was the registered owner of the vehicle, was found near the vehicle with head injuries and was given aid at the scene.

Both occupants were transported by ambulance to Northern Maine Medical Center.

Authorities reported that the injuries sustained were initially considered serious but not life-threatening.

An accident reconstructionist from Presque Isle Police Department assisted on scene.

Caribou Road was temporarily closed while officials conducted their roadside investigation and emergency crews worked.

The Fort Kent Police Department was assisted by U.S. Border Patrol and Maine State Police.

Investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
