MIDDLEBURY — A 42-year-old Charlotte woman has been charged with embezzling more than $8,700 from a Ferrisburgh convenience store where she worked as manager.

Vermont State Police began investigating Laura M. Brewer on March 25 at approximately 12:23 p.m. after receiving a report of missing funds on bank statements.

The investigation revealed that Brewer took $8,763 in cash from the Ferrisburgh Stewart’s Shops during January and February and failed to deposit the money.
