Poughkeepsie police arrest Fishkill man in child abuse case

POUGHKEEPSIE — City of Poughkeepsie police arrested a Fishkill man on June 24 following an investigation into allegations of child abuse.

The suspect has been charged with one count of acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17, a Class A misdemeanor.

He was also charged with one count of sexual abuse in the third degree, a Class B misdemeanor.

Police say the arrest is the result of an investigation led by the City of Poughkeepsie Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Child Advocacy Center of Dutchess County.

Authorities began the investigation after receiving reports of inappropriate touching involving a minor by a physical therapist at Hudson Point Physical Therapy, 57 Cannon Street.

The suspect was arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Police are not releasing the suspect’s name due to the misdemeanor charges.
