LOUISVILLE — A New York State Police trooper arrested a Watertown man for driving while intoxicated after observing him drinking an alcoholic beverage while driving on State Highway 37 on June 23.
The trooper spotted John W. Gokey, 32, drinking from an alcoholic beverage while driving a gray 2005 Kia at approximately 4:52 p.m.
Troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified Gokey as the driver.
During the interview, troopers noticed the alcoholic beverage on the passenger side floorboards.
Troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which Gokey failed.
He was arrested and transported to SP Massena for processing.
Gokey provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol concentration of .08%.
Gokey was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued vehicle and traffic tickets.
He was released on an appearance ticket and is required to return to the Town of Louisville Court at a later date in August.
