MONROE — A Connecticut woman was arrested Tuesday on multiple fraud-related charges after allegedly using debit cards belonging to two mentally disabled residents of a local care facility.
Natalie Taylor, 37, of Stratford, Connecticut, was taken into custody by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Monroe.
Taylor faces two counts of grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony.
She is also charged with two counts of identity theft in the first degree, a class D felony.
Additional charges include two counts of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person in the first degree, a class E felony.
Taylor also faces two counts of unlawful possession of personal identification in the third degree and two counts of scheme to defraud in the second degree, both class A misdemeanors.
The investigation began April 17 after an employee at St. Dominic’s Family Services observed unusually low bank account balances for two residents.
The facility houses mentally disabled adults.
The employee also noticed unauthorized transactions made in the Bronx.
Two female victims, ages 28 and 29, reported that Taylor had possession of their debit cards.
Police say Taylor unlawfully used both victims’ debit cards to make personal purchases without their consent.
Taylor was processed at State Police Monroe without incident.
She is scheduled to be arraigned in the Town of Goshen Court Tuesday at 3 p.m.
