NEWFIELDS — A 26-year-old Manchester man was arrested June 25 following a high-speed chase that reached speeds exceeding 130 mph through multiple Seacoast communities during morning rush hour.
Demarien Joseph was taken into custody in Stratham after fleeing from Rockingham County Sheriff’s deputies who attempted to stop his blue 2024 BMW 4-Series on Route 101 eastbound in Epping at approximately 8:50 a.m.
The vehicle failed to stop and swerved in and out of rush hour traffic while traveling at excessive speeds, according to the Newfields Police Department.
The chase continued along Route 101 eastbound from Epping through Brentwood and Exeter.
A Newfields police officer spotted the vehicle after it took an exit off Route 101 and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued to flee and the officer lost sight of it.
The vehicle was located a short time later in Stratham, where Joseph was arrested.
Joseph faces charges including reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, operating while certified as a habitual offender, disobeying an officer, suspension of vehicle registration and reckless operation.
He was transported to Rockingham County Jail, where he remains held on preventative detention pending a court appearance in 10th Circuit Court – Brentwood – District Division.
