HARPERSFIELD — A Harpersfield resident was arrested June 16 on a charge of criminal contempt after authorities say he violated an active order of protection.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched Tuesday morning following a report of the order’s violation in the town of Harpersfield.

Investigators determined that Joshua M. Meyers, 34, had unlawful contact with the person protected by the order.

Meyers was charged with one count of criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor under New York law.

He was processed at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned in Delaware County CAP Court.

Meyers was remanded to Delaware County Jail with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 secured bond.
