EAST HAVEN — The East Haven Police Department is actively investigating a serious motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Hemingway Avenue and Tyler Street.
At approximately 11:56 p.m. on June 23, officers responded to a report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile in the roadway with serious injuries.
East Haven Fire Department personnel provided immediate aid, and the juvenile was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital via AMR with serious injuries.
Due to the nature of the injuries sustained, the South-Central Connecticut Traffic Unit responded and is leading the investigation.
The vehicle involved remained on scene, the operator fully cooperated and no charges have been filed at this time.
Police are urging anyone who lives in the area of Hemingway Avenue and Tyler Street or who may have been traveling through the vicinity between 11:30 p.m. and midnight to check their home surveillance, doorbell cameras, or vehicle dashcams for any relevant footage that may assist with this investigation.
