WALTON — An 18-year-old Fish’s Eddy resident was arrested Saturday night after deputies observed a lit firecracker being thrown from a vehicle in the Village of Walton.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were patrolling Bridge Street when they saw the incident on Stockton Avenue.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Joseph Cerrone.
During the investigation, deputies detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle.
Cerrone was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, driving while intoxicated, and operating a motor vehicle after having consumed alcohol under the age of 21, all unclassified misdemeanors.
He was also issued traffic summonses for throwing or depositing refuse or offensive matter onto the highway and for holding more than one New York State driver’s license.
Cerrone was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to return to the Village of Walton Court at a later date.
