Cortland police report 14 arrests, range of charges in weekly summary

CORTLAND — City of Cortland police arrested 14 individuals between June 15 and June 21, according to the department’s weekly arrest summary.

The arrests included charges ranging from aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle to felony weapon offenses, petit larceny, and various local ordinance violations.

Matthew R. Carle, 47, of Rickard Street, was arrested at 12:48 a.m. June 15 on Clinton Avenue and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree.

Jordan Christopher Smith, 26, of Cortland, was arrested at 1:21 p.m. June 15 on Rickard Street on multiple felony counts, including first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon with a previous conviction, second-degree criminal possession of a loaded firearm, and second-degree criminal use of a firearm.

Jarod Scott Oneill, 37, of Turner Hill Road in Marathon Town, was arrested at 9 a.m. June 16 at 25 Court Street and charged with petit larceny, third-degree identity theft, and unlawful possession of personal identification in the third degree, all misdemeanors.

Jacob Matthew Clyde Swanson, 28, of Elm Street in Cortland, was arrested at 10:55 a.m. June 16 at 25 Court Street on a warrant of arrest.

William Davis Gigliuto, 33, of Grove Street in Marathon Village, was arrested at 5:31 a.m. June 17 on Port Watson Street for third-degree criminal tampering, a misdemeanor.

Charles L. Ray III, 54, of Williams Street in Cortland, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. June 17 on Williams Street for second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

A 17-year-old female from Bartlett Avenue in Cortland was arrested at 11:11 p.m. June 19 on Bartlett Avenue for violating the Family Court Act.

Louise Marie Mudge, 42, of Arthur Avenue in Cortland, was arrested at 3:04 a.m. June 20 on Arthur Avenue on a bench warrant.

Scott Arthur Sherman, 51, of Cortland, was arrested at 8:45 a.m. June 20 on Port Watson Street, charged with violating a local ordinance for operating a bicycle on a sidewalk, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Steven Wade Gorenflo, 55, of Cortland, was arrested twice at 1:47 p.m. and 2 p.m. June 20 on Church Street on bench warrants.

Corey Adam Lansdowne, 26, of Scott, was arrested at 6:12 p.m. June 20 on Church Street for unreasonable noise, a violation.

Erica J. Brown, 45, of Winter Street in Cortland, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. June 21 at South Avenue and Pierce Street for violating a local ordinance regarding a dog at large.

Rebecca May Robitaille, 37, of Cortland, was arrested at 6 p.m. June 21 on Port Watson Street for trespass, a violation, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
