CLINTON — The Clinton Police Department’s Drug Unit arrested two men Monday following a three-month investigation into a major drug trafficking organization distributing fentanyl in the town.
Julio Alejandro Perez Alvarado and Alexander M Brito Perez were charged with fentanyl trafficking and related offenses.
The investigation, conducted with the DEA HIDTA and North Worcester County Drug Task Force, identified the two suspects as Central Massachusetts residents distributing large amounts of fentanyl in Clinton and surrounding Greater Worcester and North Worcester County areas.
Police seized 179 grams of fentanyl in two separate raid operations in Clinton and Worcester, with an estimated street value of approximately $17,900.
Authorities also seized $5,350 in cash as drug proceeds.
During the investigation, police identified stash houses, motor vehicles used for transporting and storing narcotics, associates involved in the operation, drug drop locations and customers.
Several hundred grams of fentanyl were purchased in undercover operations to infiltrate the organization.
Both suspects were booked at the Clinton Police Department and transported to Clinton District Court.
